A Year and a Day

I realized Linden will pretty much always have a relaxing and fabulous birthday because it falls so close to Memorial Day. Today it is rainy and we all took naps, read a lot of books and ate delicious Mexican food from La Posada. 

Here's the little one during a small reprieve from screaming at my face:

His Squishyness

Happy Happy New Year, Squish! A year ago you bounced into our lives and shook it up good. I love you and the way you have learned to walk and point and say uh-oh even though you totally meant to throw that blue owl off the couch. You climb, you screech, you are you and I can't wait to see more of all your squishyness on our next trip around the sun. I will now fight the urge to wake you up in the middle of the night and behold your cuteness. Here's to what next year will bring!

Non-examples in personal hygiene

Should a six year old brush his teeth and eat French fries at the same time? Not recommended.

A. Year. Wow. 

Walking, babbling, eating up a storm! Tries to run, falls and gets right back up. Doesn't miss a beat. Cries when I bring him inside, bangs on the glass door to get outside. Loves the grass and the sandbox and the dirt in the potted plants. I just let him dig. Because he also loves the bathtub. 

Road trip!!!

Weeeellll, it's not quite that exciting. Headed to Lubbock tomorrow. 

Some standing, definitely cruising

We seem to have this little baby boy who is super amazing. He will stand on his own then squat and pick up heavy toys, balanced on sumo legs. He eats and eats and eats. And sleeps, then eats some more. I just love him and his huggly squishyness.

And then there's also this other big boy, who is super amazing too! I see him swimming and earning green belts in karate and learning to ride his bike and being so sweet on a daily basis and I think, wow. I just love him and his marvelous mischievousness.

Linden claps and waves bye bye, and has a little tooth! Well, he sort of waves bye bye. It's more like a HEY!!! IMOVERHERE! HI! Kind of wave.
